According to the natives, the camel was used by the tribal people of Bedouin for survival purposes since the dawn of civilization. They used their skin, meat, and milk to survive.

   The preparation of the rare camel platter involves multiple procedures that are listed below.

Process of Marination

The camel meat in 1 piece is marinated a day before the preparation of the camel platter. It is suggested to marinate the platter overnight so that all the spices and marinating sauces gets preserved and submerged into the meat to enhance the flavor of the meat.
In the marination process, a special batter is made which includes tomato sauce along with a variety of multiple spices. Those spices mainly have salt, peppers, and some of them are not disclosed as they play a part in secret recipes. The marination process should be about 10 to 15 hours because the batter will take time to do its job on the whole camel.

The Cooking Process

Cooking a gigantic camel in one piece is not a game of kids. A whole lot of care and preciseness is required. The next day the marinated camel is supposed to be cooked by a process of steaming. The whole camel is shifted into a large container with the help of 4 to 5 people and then it is left there on medium heat for about 5 to 6 hours.
6 hours are the best option because after that the meat comes out fully cooked and sear. After the camel is cooked properly, it is not in its original shape anymore.

To serve a Camel on the platter a number of multiple dishes are made. Like rice are cooked to serve them with the camel and besides that, multiple salads and bean are also served with the camel on the platter.
When the platter is aligned and ready to serve, almost 5 people will carry the platter to the serving site. Arabs mostly like to have food outdoors where they can have a view of the beach and their sitting arrangement is also on the ground.

How Do We Eat the Platter?

The first thing to remember is that the cultural way of eating is with the hands and without cutlery. What you have to do is that you have to make a lump of rice with your hand and then tear off the meat from where you think it looks the best and then put it over the lump of the rice that you made with your hand. Now, you have to assemble the bite in your hand and put it in your mouth without having it fall back on the platter.
Another important thing to remember is that you should not ask for plates as you have to eat from the platter.
